Nick is earning a Ph.D. in Human Sciences with a specialization in Leadership Studies in the Department of Agricultural Leadership, Education, and Communication. Nick has two other degrees from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln: a M.S. in Leadership Education and a B.S. in Biological Sciences.
Nick was an NHRI Leadership Mentor from 2014 - 2017 and served as the NHRI Master’s Research Assistant from 2017 - 2019. Nick worked as a Doctoral Research Assistant for NHRI from 2023 - 2025 until stepping into the Interim Program Director role in 2025.
Research
Nick has a background in student affairs and leadership education. He is interested in college student development and understanding how college students develop their leadership identities. Nick has also worked with Dr. Lindsay Hastings on research exploring the short- and long-term outcomes of leadership mentoring experiences for NHRI mentors and alumni.
